Course Description: This program will discuss concepts and principles related to the management of blood cholesterol.  The presenter will identify evidence-based practice for the pharmacological and non-pharmacological management of elevated blood cholesterol.

Learning Outcomes: After completing this activity, the participant will be able to:

·        Review the concepts and principles related to clinical decision-making in the pathophysiology of the contribution of blood cholesterol to the development of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

·        Recognize risk factors for the development of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and associated adverse outcomes.

·        Discuss currently available interventions for the pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic management of abnormal blood cholesterol.

·        Discuss currently available clinical practice guidelines for the management of blood cholesterol.
