Course Description: This program will review Coronary Heart Disease, looking at prevalence, risk factors, signs and symptoms, prevention and physical activity. A review of the anatomical structures associated with CHD will be reviewed as well. A differentiation of the various types of Acute Coronary Syndrome will be discussed, including: STEMI, NSTEMI and Unstable angina. Management of ACS will include: anticoagulation , angioplasty and a review of 12 Lead ECG and biomarkers for diagnosis. Complications such as cardiogenic shock, ventricular tachycardia and fibrillation, reinfarction, heart failure, pericarditis, mural thrombosis, myocardial wall rupture, papillary muscle rupture and ventricular aneurysm will be discussed.
