Course Description:  This course reviews basic arithmetic functions with fractions and decimals and then teaches how to calculate basic medical math including converting within the metric system, medication dosages, converting pounds to kilograms for pediatric dosages and converting Fahrenheit to Celsius temperature.  IV drug calculations are also included.

Learning Outcomes: After completing this activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Perform basic math calculations for fractions and decimals.
  • Perform metric conversions.
  • Perform basic drug calculations with 100% accurately.
  • Nurses must perform IV drug calculations with 100% accurately.
